Dimension Data:
Through The Ark Foundation and the Dimension Data partnership, 180 (one hundred and eighty) in Grade 10, 11 and 12 pupils from underprivileged schools benefitted from the Dimension Data e-learning schools programme in Thembisa. These learrners benefit from extra and advanced classes in Mathematics, Science and English. The Ark Foundation also provides career guidance to Dimension Data's university bound students. In 2010 Dimension Data has further strengthened its relationship with The Ark Foundation by securing learners from Johannesburg West, South and North for its Saturday School at Dimension Data main campus (Bryanston).
Nashua Mobile:
Nashua Mobile contributed for the ferrying of the 180 learners. Learners were ferried from the homes and different pickup points to the Thembisa Saturday school and back.
Psitek:
Psitek Streetwise project was launched in the Western Cape in February 2010, with The Ark Foundation as its implementation partner. The project is set to roll out country wide over the next coming years. The Streetwise terminal is an e-learning tool similar to in utility to laptop that has been customised to cater for extreme conditions of rural areas. It uses GPRS and can access the internet in any area where a cellphone reception is accessible. it is text based and thus less harmful for internet usage, in terms of streaming of indecent, inappropriate material.
Pep Stores:
Pep Stores Capetown Head Office partnered with The Ark Foundation for the learners' clothing.
Imperial Bank:
The Ark Foundation was tasked with a needs analysis and implementation of development projects including motivational talks in schools that have been identified by Imperial Bank. Imperial Bank has further shown its commitment to this partnership by donating classes to Schaumburg Combined School in North West.
Pick 'n Pay Hypermarket Northgate; Friendly Grocer (Weltervreden Park); Woolworths (Brightwater Commons) :
The 180 learners attending the Dimension Data centre in Thembisa also received food from the the stores mentioned above.
Gospel Gold:
Together with the Gospel Gold TV show and Radio Pulpit, The Ark Foundation has partnered with Penny Music providing motivational and lifestyle guidance to underprivileged schools in the Gauteng province.
